Sustainability and Slow Travel

Vietnam is leading the way in Sustainable Tourism in 2026. With five villages now recognized by the UNWTO as “Best Tourism Villages,” the focus has shifted from busy cities to authentic community-based experiences.

Northern Wonders

  • Ha Giang Loop: No longer just for hardcore bikers, the loop now offers luxury eco-lodges for those who want to see the stunning “Stone Plateau” in comfort.
  • Hanoi: The capital is a sensory overload of motorbikes and street food. Hanoi Old Quarter is the place to try “Egg Coffee” and the world-famous Pho.

The Central Coast

  • Hoi An: The “City of Lanterns” is particularly magical during the full moon. In 2026, the focus is on the nearby Tra Que Vegetable Village, where tourists can learn traditional farming.
  • Da Nang: Home to the famous Golden Bridge (held by giant stone hands). It has become the “Miami of Vietnam” with its high-end beach resorts.

The Southern Pulse

  • Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon): A city that never sleeps. The War Remnants Museum provides a somber but necessary look at history, while the rooftop bars offer a glimpse into Vietnam’s booming future.
